Cherry Fruit buns

Ingredients
125g plain flour
2tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp mixed spice
50g soft butter
25 g light brown sugar
65g cherry berry mix - raisins or sultanas
1 small egg
2tbs milk
Caster sugar for sprinkling

Method
1. Pre heat oven 200oC - Line baking sheet with grease proof paper.
2. Measure out flour, baking powder & spice, sieve into a large bowl.
3. Cut up butter, add to bowl. Rub in butter using fingertips until the pieces of butter get smaller and look like breadcrumbs.
4. Stir in brown sugar & fruit.
5. In a small bowl beat egg & milk together.
6. Make a well in the centre of the flour and pour in egg mixture. Mix with a round bladed knife to make a firm dough.
7. Drop heaped table spoons of mixture onto a lined tray well spaced apart.
8. Sprinkle each bun with caster sugar.
9. Bake inoven for 15 minutes until golden brown.
10. Cool on a wire rack - can be stored in an air tight container for three days.
