Chocolate & Orange Heart Cookies

Ingredients
75g Soft butter
25g light brown sugar
110g plain flour
25g cocoa
1teaspoon baking powder
1 orange - zest  & 2 tablespoons orange juice
70g chopped dark chocolate


Method
1. Preheat oven 180oC 350oF gas 4
2. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
3. measure carefully butter & sugar, beat both together with a wooden spoon until pale & fluffy.
4. Weigh out the flour, cocoa powder and baking powder. Sift these ingredients into the butter & sugar mixture, then mix well.
5. Add the chopped chocolate, Carefully zest the orange and add the zest & juice. (do not use the white pith of orange). Mix until it forms a smooth dough.
6. Lightly flour the work surface and roll out the dough to 1/2 cm thickness. Use a heart shape biscuit cutter, pushing down the cutter firmly through the dough.
7. Place in the baking tray, (leaving space to spread slightly).
8. bake for approx 12-15 minutes, cool on a wire rack. The cookies can be dusted lightly with icing sugar.
