Chocolate & Hazelnut rolls
Ingredients
100g butter
125g Icing sugar
1 Egg
1 Egg yolk
100g ground hazelnuts
25g ground almonds
15g cornflour
100g chopped chocolate
Method
1. Blend the icing sugar & the butter.
2. Add egg & egg yolk - cream together till smooth.
3. Add the nuts, cornflour and stir in the chopped chocolate.
4. Put teaspoons of the mixture on a plate and set in the freezer till hard.
5. Take one sheet of Filo pastry, cut into wide strips.
6. Brush lightly with melted butter.
7. Place the nut mixture at the bottom of the pastry.
8. Fold sides of the pastry in to overlap the mixture.
9. Roll the pastry from the bottom, brushing with butter.
10 Ensure the end of the pastry sheet is underneath the roll.
11. Put on lines baking tray - bake for 10-15 minutes in a pre heated oven 180oC/375oF/Gas5 until golden and crisp.
