Cheese Pretzels

Ingredients
200g plain flour
25g cheddar cheese
25g butter cut in small pieces
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon sugar
pinch salt
100ml milk
1 egg

Method
1. Pre heat the oven to 190oC/380oF
2. Line a baking tray with baking paper
3, Put the flour, butter, baking powder, sugar & salt in a large bowl and mix together.
4. Grate cheese & add to the bowl.
5. Gradually add the milk & stir with a round bladed knife until it forms a ball.
6. Lightly flour a work surface and knead the dough until smooth.
7. Roll out to a rectangle shape approx 25x18cm
8. Cut dough into strips, twist into pretzels-knot shapes.
9. Brush with beaten egg, sprinkle with coarse sea salt, sesame seeds, poppy seeds or grated cheese.
10. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden.
Eat warm!
