Granola Bars (St Edmundsbury healthy eating week)

Ingredients
100g butter
130g golden syrup
60g soft brown sugar
1 tablespoon apple juice
150g jumbo oats
150g rolled oats
60g plain flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
50g sesame seeds
50g sunflower seeds and or pumpkin seeds
100g dried fruit of your choice cut into small pieces; dates, cranberries, apricots, raisins.

Method
1. Preheat oven 160°C/325°F/ Gas 3
2. Line a baking tray with baking paper (approx 30x23cm tray bake tin)
3. Place the butter, golden syrup, soft brown sugar and apple juice into a pan.
4. Heat this mixture gently until the ingredients melt.
5. In a large bowl place the jumbo oats and rolled oats, plain flour and baking powder together, stirring well.
6. Chop any of the large dried fruit into small pieces, then add these to the oat and flour mixture.
7. Add the sesame seeds and sunflower seeds also to the dry mixture.
8. Stir the warm butter, syrup, sugar, apple juice mixture into the dry ingredients, mixing everything thoroughly till evenly coated.
9. Transfer the mixture into the prepared lined tin and spread evenly. Press down gently with the back of a spoon.
10. Bake in a preheated oven for approx 20 minutes then cool on a wire rack.
11. Lift the cooled mixture from a tin using the paper lining, then to cut into 16 bars.
