Blackberry & Apple Torte

Ingredients
50g soft butter
1 egg
75g golden caster sugar
1/2 tea spoon almond extract
50g self raising flour
1/2 tea spoon baking powder
25g ground almonds
1 cooking apple
50g frozen blackberries
1table spoon flaked almonds

Method
1 Pre heat the oven to 180°C/375°F/Gas 5
2. Line & butter an 18cm tin
3. Put butter & sugar in a large bowl, cream together using wooden spoon until pale & fluffy.
4. Add beaten eggs & almond extract.
5. Fold in sieved flour & baking powder. Gently fold in ground almonds. leave to one side.
6. Peel core and slice apple.
7. Put 2/3 creamed mixture into the tin, spread gently to cover the base.
8. Arrange apples in a layer over the mixture, put blackberries on top.
9. Gently drop by teaspoonsfuls the rest of the mixture over the fruit.
10. Sprinkle over flaked almonds.
11. Bake for approx 30 minutes till golden, eat warm or cold.
