Apple & Blackberry Crumble Crunch
Ingredients
4 Cooking apples (Bramley)
1 tablespoon Caster sugar
1-2 tablespoons Water
200g Blackberries
Topping
50g Wholemeal plain flour
50g Oats
50g Oatmeal
75g soft butter
75g soft brown sugar
Method
1 Peel and core the apples, slice thickly.
2 Place the sliced apples in a pan with 1-2 tablespoons of water and sugar. Gently heat until the apples become soft. 3 Remove from the heat, stir in the blackberries, then spoon into an oven proof dish.
4 Pre heat the oven to 180°C/375°F/Gas 5
5. In a large bowl stir the flour, oats and oatmeal. Dice the butter and rub in using your fingertips until it resembles crumbs.
6 Stir in the sugar.
7 Spoon over the fruit evenly.
8 Bake at 160°C/350°F/Gas 4 for approx 20 mins till golden brown and bubbling at the edges.
Eat warm with cream, or egg custard.
